Friends now we will talk about Xiaomi launched Mi Pay payments applications for MIUI user. Xiaomi launched Mi Pay UPI-based payment system in India. Mi Pay was first introduced in India last December in beta mode. Mi Pay will be available soon through Mi Apps store. Xiaomi has partnered National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and ICICI Bank to launch Mi Pay in India.

Xiaomi hasn’t commented on whether Mi Pay will be available for other Android or iOS phones. A MIUI user can pay bills for electricity, gas, telephone and even recharge their prepaid phone connections by Mi Pay. The Mi Pay will face competition from popular payments services in India such as Paytm, PhonePe, MobiKwik and Google Pay. Mi Pay will also rival with WhatsApp’s in-built payment service, which is also based on UPI.

Mi Pay is based on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) – the same technology that Paytm and other payments apps use in India. Xiaomi Mi Pay will be exclusive to MIUI-based Xiaomi smartphone users and will offer smart integration features. A user can access several features of Mi Pay via the Contacts, Camera and SMS app or any other MIUI app.

Xiaomi launched Mi Pay, ICICI Bank is the payment service provider for Mi Pay. Users can effectively make payments using UPI and other debit cards, credit cards and internet banking across 120+ banks and over 120 billers, the company said in a statement.

Xiaomi claims that Mi Pay data is stored only on Indian servers and is working alongside EY and Lucideus to keep user data safe. Xiaomi launched Mi Pay UPI has been approved by NPCI under the multi-bank API model and it has been audited by CERT-IN impaneled auditors E&Y and Lucideus.
